A Legacy in Motion:
Salesia Smith-Gordon’s Presidency 2024-25

Former President 2024-2025 – Sheree Davis Cunningham Black Women Lawyers Association (SDCBWLA)

As the former President of the Sheree Davis Cunningham Black Women Lawyers Association (SDCBWLA) of Palm Beach County, Salesia Smith-Gordon brought both heart and strategy to the role. She served during a pivotal time for the organization, championing initiatives that promoted the advancement, visibility, and professional development of Black women attorneys.

Under her leadership, SDCBWLA experienced an increase in membership, a significant achievement given the broader national context, where Black women make up only 4% of lawyers in the United States, and less than 1% are law firm partners. Her ability to grow the organization reflected a deep understanding of the challenges faced by Black women in the legal profession and a commitment to creating space where they could thrive.

During her term, the association launched impactful programs focused on mentorship, advocacy, and community engagement. Salesia emphasized the importance of legacy-building, honoring the contributions of past legal trailblazers while preparing the next generation to lead with confidence and clarity. From organizing a wide range of networking events—spanning intra-legal, cross-professional, and community-based spaces—to serving as Movant for eight SDCBWLA member inductees into the United States Supreme Court Bar before the en banc court, including a historic meeting with U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, superheading substantive continuing legal and practical life, educational seminars. Her leadership was recognized and saluted by the International Career and Business Alliance (ICABA) as a Woman of Impact Leading Light of the SDCBWLA.

Auto Accidents

Auto accidents are the leading cause of personal injury caused by negligence in West Palm Beach. Every driver owes a legal duty to other drivers on the road to drive with reasonable care. Yet every day people drive at dangerous speeds, make reckless or aggressive maneuvers, and spend more time looking at their phones than the road. Unfortunately, the results can be catastrophic not only for those negligent drivers but also for the innocent car accident victims who were not able to escape the collision or crash. Attorney Salesia Smith-Gordon and her team work to bring dangerous drivers to justice in a fight to make our roads safer and obtain fair compensation for the auto accident victims. Our firm holds drivers accountable for the results of their dangerous decisions, such as:

Florida auto accident law can be confusing and often works to severely limit the amount of compensation a car accident victim can recover. For instance, Florida’s no-fault Personal Injury Protection (PIP) insurance will only cover 80% of medical bills and 60% of lost income up to a total of $10,000. To make matters worse, PIP coverage can be limited to only $2,500, depending upon the nature of the injury and whether you know how to follow up appropriately after a crash to protect your rights to compensation. However, if you have suffered a serious injury and know how to properly pursue a claim, it is possible to sue the at-fault driver for the full amount of your legal damages, including all your present and future medical bills, lost income due to time missed from work or permanent disability, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.

Salesia Smith-Gordon is an experienced, successful auto accident attorney who will thoroughly investigate your accident and prepare a strong case designed to get the full amount of compensation available under the law. You deserve no less when you are seriously injured because of another’s negligent, reckless or distracted driving. In West Palm Beach, call 561-655-9279 for immediate assistance.
