Emotional distress is not a visible injury. It can reveal itself in many ways, including panic attacks, insomnia, nightmares, over or undereating, mood swings, crying, feelings of hopelessness, stomach pains, and more. In Florida, the responsibility lies with the injured person to prove emotional distress or mental anguish.
Salesia V. Smith-Gordon has made history yet again at the Florida State University College of Law. Her recent pledge of $200,000 to endow the Salesia V. Smith-Gordon Endowment Fund makes her the first Black alumna to make a gift of this magnitude and the first to have her portrait installed in the college’s rotunda.
